YOGA LIT - THE ELEVATE COMPANY BOOK CLUB
DRUM ROLL…
We are pleased to introduce Yoga Lit: The Elevate Company Book Club, a space for exploring scientific, historic, and foundational literature in the yogic tradition as well as the broader context of health and wellness. Really, we are interested in learning about how we can elevate this one beautiful life we live.
In Yoga Lit, we will explore these texts together, as we grow our resources for living well, through meaningful conversations and connection over our love of the yoga practice and our shared pursuit to live life to our fullest potential.
Our reading syllabus will take us through bio-psycho-social-physio-logical, historical and spiritual theory. The Elevate Company was founded on the principle that to know anatomy is to know yourself, we really believe in this. In Yoga Lit, we will explore the mind-body connection and theories relating to living well.
We will alternate monthly from the ‘health literature scope’ to the ‘historical literature scope’ which details the rich origins of yoga and anchors us in the ancient tradition of the practice. Here are some of the questions we aim to consider:
What is the role of courage in the landscape of emotional management?
What is the relationship between our gut health and our emotional well being?
How was yoga first practiced?
As we explore a variety of topics and themes, we will pursue the workings of the mind and body so we might support the depth of our practice; “In the fire of the yoga of self-restraint, which is kindled by knowledge,” 27, The Bhagavad Gita.
Yoga Lit is for everyone, both casual and serious readers are all welcome. Questions about book club or wondering how to get your book? Email at info@theelevatecompany.com. Register below or on the mobile app under classes.
The Elevate Co. Book Club will be held at our studio (901 1st Street) on the first Friday of the month from 6:45 PM - 8:15 PM.
